Seedance 2.5 API: Check the Model Before You Copy the Example
Seedance 2.5 API access is advertised by providers including Creaa and Higgsfield, but their endpoints, model identifiers and billing systems are different. Start with the chosen provider's current model entry. A Seedance heading, an older code sample or a website subscription does not establish what your request will run or cost.
This guide compares public documentation, not paid generation tests. Sources were checked September 23, 2026.
Where to start
| Provider | What the public page establishes | Check before sending a request |
|---|---|---|
| Creaa | Its catalog lists seedance-2.5; its docs describe a shared video task endpoint |
The authenticated model catalog and your API-credit balance |
| Higgsfield | Its API console lists Seedance 2.5; API billing is separate from website subscriptions | The selected model's own endpoint, schema and configuration price |
| UGC Copilot | Its API page advertises Seedance 2.0/2.5 and describes a compatibility engine name | How the current schema selects version 2.5 specifically |

A working example can still select the wrong version
Creaa's API landing page lists version 2.5, while its sample video request selects seedance-2.0. Its integration guide's text-to-video example selects seedance-2.0-fast. These examples demonstrate the request format; they are not version-2.5 examples. The guide identifies /models as the current source for available models and parameters. Integration guide
Before copying a sample, compare three fields: the model name in the page heading, the identifier in the request, and the model entry that defines valid settings. If they differ, keep the example's workflow but do not assume its model or settings match your intended job. A successful request alone would not resolve that mismatch.
UGC Copilot illustrates another naming issue. Its Seedance quickstart sends engine: "sora"; the same page explains that this is a compatibility name routed to Seedance. That explanation resolves the apparent name conflict, but does not by itself identify a version-2.5 selector. Confirm the version through its current schema before treating that sample as a 2.5 integration. API quickstart and FAQ
Do not combine one provider's engine name with another provider's endpoint. Similar marketing names do not make request bodies interchangeable.
Compare the bill, not just the word “credits”
Creaa's public listing quotes 23 credits per second for Seedance 2.5 and directs developers to its current catalog and dashboard for pricing. Higgsfield's API instead uses a separate US-dollar balance; its website Unlimited benefits do not transfer. MCP/CLI connections use Higgsfield plan credits, which are a different route again. Creaa listing · Higgsfield billing explanation
A credit count from one provider cannot be compared directly with a dollar rate from another. Match the model version, duration, output settings and purchased credit value first. Keep any conversion tied to the actual pack being bought, rather than treating “one credit” as a shared currency.
For the same reason, a website video allowance is not an API budget. Check the balance attached to the credentials your application will use before paying for a subscription intended for the visual editor.
Receiving a task ID is only the start
Creaa documents task polling. Higgsfield documents asynchronous requests with polling or webhook completion. In both cases, a request identifier comes before the finished media. Creaa task workflow · Higgsfield API workflow
Save the identifier and follow the returned task through to completion. If a client times out, check the existing task before submitting a replacement: losing the response and failing the generation are different events. Do not assume every provider handles duplicate submissions the same way.
Historical tutorial transcripts follow this submit–check–download sequence too. One explicitly skips part of the waiting period, so its short runtime is not evidence of fast generation. Use tutorials to understand the steps, not to forecast queue time.
Higgsfield says generated files remain available for at least seven days and may be removed afterward. Download completed outputs to your own storage instead of treating a returned URL as a permanent archive. Output retention
Before your first paid request
Record the provider, exact model identifier, generation settings, price unit and balance source together. Keep the status-checking instructions beside that record. This gives you one coherent request specification instead of a mixture of a new model announcement, an older sample and a website plan.
No authenticated catalog response, paid request or billing receipt was obtained for this review. Account-level availability and the final charge still need checking in the selected provider's current interface. Historical transcript examples were not independently checked against their audio or screen recordings.
